    simple together
    Simple Together (Alanis Morissette)

You've been my golden best friend
    now with post-demise at hand
can't go to you for consolation
cause we're off limits during this transition

    this grief overwhelms me
    it burns in my stomach
and I can't stop bumping into things

I thought we'd be simple together
I thought we'd be happy together
    thought we'd be limitless together
I thought we'd be precious together
    but I was sadly mistaken

you've been my soulmate and mentor
I remembered you the moment I met you
with you I knew god's face was handsome
with you I suffered an expansion

    this loss is numbing me
    it pierces my chest
and I can't stop dropping everything

I thought we'd be sexy together
    thought we'd be evolving together
I thought we'd have children together
I thought we'd be family together
    but I was sadly mistaken

if I had a bill for all the philosophies I shared
if I had a penny for all the possibilities I presented
if I had a dime for every hand thrown up in the air
my wealth would render this no less severe

I thought we'd be genius together
I thought we'd be healing together
I thought we'd be growing together
    thought we'd be adventurous together
    but I was sadly mistaken

    thought we'd be exploring together
    thought we'd be inspired together
I thought we'd be flying together
thought we'd be on fire together
    but I was sadly mistaken

    Twilight Time
So for everyone wondering what is going on

    a) I just left the public Library. There was a gas leak and we had to evacuate.

    b) Some annoying Chinese people have been pranking my work and it is getting annoying

    c) One of my best friends from school Scott's sister Pam just moved into my building. She is across from my friend Judith and her dog is annoying her to death. I'll have to tell Judith that her dog's barking is annoying her new neighbor.

FYI When I would hang out with Scott at his house with my brother Matt, Pam and their brother Jeff and Pam's friend Sarah,we'd get into so much trouble. Crank calls, horror movies,SNL,shoplifting candy (not me HONEST)I DO NOT STEAL. Nicky nicky nine door(ding dong ditch) or crank door knocking (knock on someone's door, and start saying random shit like I lost my cat, or have you seen my friend________ ??? TOO FUNNY. I was cracking up reliving old times. Like when we danced on top of the closed Food Town late at night and started singing random songs.
    This was in grades 5-8.

    d) I think my SM might FINALLY be getting fired and well IT'S ABOUT TIME nuff said.

    e) I am going to the Mayfair on Friday to see lee's new movie SMASH CUT and then staying for Last House on the Left. Both stare David Hess and I am so excited that Lee is flying him in to introduce the films. I hope to get my LE Last House DVD signed and a picture with him. If you don't know who David Hess is, shame on you and go rent HITCH HIKE aka (CUT AND RUN),Last House on the Left (original Wes Craven one)and House at the Edge of the Park.

    f) I am mulling ideas about what to do for my 30th birthday celebration. I want to try and get 30 people together and do something cool. I know it isn't until 2011, but I don't want to leave it last minute.

    g) Reviews of music and movies soon promise.

    h) Got my reg Flu shot and not sure about H1N1

    i) Going to see TWILIGHT NEW MOON on Thursday at it's premier, so excited.

    Somtimes it's a BITCH
    Sometimes It's a Bitch
    - written by j. bon jovi, b. falcon
    - appears on Timespace - The Best of Stevie Nicks (1991)
    - released as a single; b-side: Desert Angel (U.S. August 1991)
    - released as a CD Single; b-side: Battle of the Dragon, Desert Angel

    (U.K. August 1991)

    Lyrics

Well I've run through rainbows and castles of candy
I cried a river of tears from the pain
I try to dance with what life has to hand me
    My partner's been pleasure...my partner's been pain

There are days when I swear I could fly like an eagle
And dark desperate hours that nobody sees
My arms stretched triumphant on top of the mountain
My head in my hands...down on my knees

    Sometimes it's a bitch...sometimes it's a breeze
Sometimes love's blind...and sometimes it sees
    Sometimes it's roses...and, sometimes it's weeds
    Sometimes it's a bitch...sometimes it's a breeze

I've reached in darkness and come out with treasure
I've laid down with love and I woke up with lies
What's it all worth only the heart can measure
    It's not what's in the mirror...but what's left inside

    Sometimes it's a bitch...sometimes it's a breeze
Sometimes love's blind...and sometimes it sees
    Sometimes it's roses...and, sometimes it's weeds
    Sometimes it's a bitch...sometimes it's a breeze

You gotta take it as it comes
    Sometimes it don't come easy

I've run through rainbows and castles of candy
And I've cried a river of tears from the pain
I tried to dance with what life had to hand me
And if I could...I'd do it all over again

    Sometimes it's a bitch...sometimes it's a breeze
Sometimes love's blind...and sometimes it sees
    Sometimes it's roses...and, sometimes it's weeds
    Sometimes it's a bitch...sometimes it's a breeze
Sometimes the picture just ain't what it seems
You get what you want...but it's not what you need
    Sometimes it's a bitch...sometimes...it's a breeze
    Well it's a breeze...it's a breeze...it's a breeze...

the night I went to the Mayfair
Ok first off let me just say last night was one of the greatest nights of my life. I finally got to see my fave movie of all time plus the first 2 sequels for just $9.00. It was so cool.

I spent the morning cleaning my apt, then while I was in the shower, I missed a call from my work. I went down there and found out that Sam was a no show, so my boss asked me to stay for 20 minutes so he could do the banking. I said sure. I ended up staying for about 50 minutes. I left caught the 7 bus and went to Quinns to meet Jen and Troy. Small pub beside the theater and very bad waitress. Food was decent. We left and walked up the 5 steps lol to the theater. Then we waited, and saw CBC TV was filming us. So I mentioned out loud that I was a HUGE fan of this theater and the movies playing tonight. After paying and then explaining how much the triple bill was (he was unsure) I got my change and headed for my seat. Troy and I heckled all three films in a good way. Making references to LITTLE Britian (Lady Things lmfao) and Welcome to the Dollhouse (I want to watch you take a shit lol) During the first film, when Linda drops the bedsheet and reveals her breats, and says "See anything you like?" I yelled out "yes" and everyone in the theater laughed. Same for my owwwww (cat call) for the nurse in Part 2 (hot tub scene) and Tom Atkins's but in part 3. I thought at first people might get mad, but they loved my our loud jokes (that was fast sex lol) Lee said they will more then likley do this every year. COUNT ME IN LOL. I had so much fun. Seeing the familiar flashing jack-o-lantern and famous theme music brought a huge smile to my face.

    HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE

    One Good Scare
    1) I just finished watching a REALLY GOOD documentary. It is called DON'T YOU FORGET ABOUT ME. It is about four filmakers who travel fro, Toronto to Chicago, to try and get an interview with John Hughes the 80's screenwriter/director/producer GOD of the BEST teen films of all time. Pretty In Pink and The Breakfast Club are my 2 fave films of his. Amber,Deb you must see this film. It really took me back.

    2) I am prepping music reviews for Imogen Heap Ellipse and Paramore Brand New Eyes CD'S now that I have listened to them for a while, I feel I can FINALLY write one.

    3) A lifelong dream of mine comes true tonight. I get to see Halloween on the bigscreen. This is my fave movie of all time, and it is so scary, without all the t&a and gore of it's 80's copycats. As a bonus I get to see HALLOWEEN II and III. Michael Myers is NOT in part 3,as it is an original story, and I wonder how many people going tonight realize that. I am so excited. I meeting my partner in crime since grade 9 Troy and his fiancee Jen for dinner then we get to witness teh greatest (slasher)and imho movie ever made.

Pictures and stuff to follow tomorrow, AS I have the WHOLE weekend off.

    The movie post
This week has seen me attending many great horror movies new an old....

Sunday I opened then was off to see THE STEPFATHER remake. It was good, but Terry O'Quinn did a better job of playing Jerry Blake. I swear the pool was a character all on it's own, as the son and his gf spend 1/2 of the movie there in various states of undress.

Monday I worked all day and hit the Mayfair for screenings of An American Werewolf in London and The Thing SO MUCH FUN....

Tuesday I worked all day and hit up the Mayfair for a FREDDY doube bill of A Nightmare on Elm Street 4-5 (Dream Master, Dream Child) it was pretty fun to see these on the big screen.

I worked Wendsday and I had Thursday off, I work today, and then tomorrow after Work I am seeing Zombie Sunday I am off and will see SAW V1

    Update for Oct 17th
So today I went to to see a double bill of "The Addams Family" I saw the first one, and then met my niece and nephew outside to take them the second one. Right now I am at their house babysitting them. It so far has been a breeze. I work tomorrow then I am going to see The Stepfather afterwards. I have been writing songs like crazy lately and I really really want to share them, and I will in due time. I finally feel better after my month of hell, I still have a bit of a sore throat, and I am coughing a little, but other then that I am fine. I have an appointment with my DR. for both reg and H1N1 flu shots. I heard 2 songs from Tori's new x-mas album and they are BAD. I'll buy it for completeness sake, but I'll probably ONLY listen to it once or twice.

    Sicksicksick
Ok so SORRY for being absent, but I am still quite sick. I took the pills, I thought they were working, they weren't, and I went the walk in clinic across from my apt. I was put on AVELOX. I have 2 3 more pills left. I feel much better, but I still feel a sort of tightness in my chest. course my dad telling me on the way home from having thanksgiving dinner at the farm, about H1N1 and how some 25 year old mother died and I should be careful, didn't help ease my allready worried mind. SO yeah life sucks right now being sick. I have a DR's appt tomorrow afternoon, so I am getting the closing MOD to come in early to relieve me so I can get there on time.

Finally Imogen Heap announced her first dates for her ELLIPSE tour. So far just Toronto at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre Nov 2? I forget the exact date. I going to tell Sam SL that works with me at the block, as she SO wants to see her live.

The Stepfather opens on Friday, and I am so psyched, I hope it's 1/2 as good as the original.

Saw Deep Red at the Mayfair on Saturday so cool to finally see this 1975 Italian shocker.

Hope all my friends are healthy and that this sickness goes away NOW.

    Laugh I nearly died
Ok so I have had a crazy sick filled week...

First work is the suck, but I think I FINALLY HAVE A solution to one problem.

I had drinks with Ashley and I surprised her with a copy of ONE ESKIMO'S debut cd. IT IS SO GOOD. wonders if casketformytears saw their set at the NYC Tori show.

I ordered the new LE of Paramore's cd, but it didn't go through. Then I go online for the first time in a week, and I have 2 on route to me. HUH???? So I e-mailed them and told them that I tried 2x to order one and your website fucked up, and how I only need one and wth.

HMV jobfair next Saturday. I am so APPLYING. If anyone knows music it's ME LOL.

    THEN................

What I thought was a common cold, was a serious chest infection. I took some Nyquil (b4 I knew this) and I had an ADVERSE reaction (opposite) to what should have happened. I almost wouldn't have woken up. I am on some pills now I can't spell it but it sounds like a seat toe my tin. They are fairly new and seem to be working hell $40.00 for 10 pills they better. 2 days off, and I am so sick. If some kind souls wants to give me 100.00 so I can see Paramore in Toronto,I'd be happy. ticket, bus there and back. Prays to the gods that I can make this show somehow. hey after this hell I need this.

Def Leppard is coming to Ottawa w Cheap Trick, and my my mom bought 2 tix me and my bro 6th row floor. I saw them once b4, Toronto 2003 Molson Amp.

    Bravo can suck it

In light of a very disturbing article which was published about me in Bravo Magazine (Germany)... I've decided to write an open letter. This isn't a total walk in the park for me. But I think it needs to happen. The disturbing part is not that the article was untrue. It's that what was written was so completely unnecessary, and just plain shitty. NEWSFLASH EVERYONE: Hayley Williams does not have perfect skin. She's got flaws! *Gasp*. Oh well, I guess it's better than reading another article about me being pregnant.

    Check out the article here:
    http://community.livejournal.com/paramoremusic/8567909.html?page=1#comments
(P.S. This is pretty embarrassing. And I'd like to add that I don't go out anywhere with a "bloody" face. Chick was buggin').

    Below is my response:

Dear Bravo Magazine and some apparently flawless chick named Juliane,

A recent article of yours was published about me and my less than perfect skin. I don't read Bravo... but a scan of the column was posted on our message board. Naturally, I saw it. First, I'd like to say thanks. Thanks for actually printing something honest. I do, in fact, have acne. It doesn't always look bad but it's there. There are many magazines that would never go out of the way to print something so truthful as this... so kudos, you clever bitches. Second, if this article actually accomplishes anything, I hope that it makes people feel good about themselves. They don't have to be perfect. And no one ever is. I'm a real person... with millions of flaws. Most of which don't show on the outside for you and your magazine to judge. I don't do interviews or TV appearances or meet and greets in order to prove to the world that I'm beautiful. I don't have to prove that to anyone. My heart is in my music, anyway. That's where you should be casting your eyes and ears. Judge that. I welcome you to. Lastly, I'm sorry, but who is Juliane?

    Smell ya later.

Melissa Etheridge tour 2010 plans sort of
Ok so this what I am planning on doing right now.

Ange has a neice Lilly from GA and she stays with her every summer. Ange has said that next summer she won't be coming, and that she will be doing a lot of shows. She is willing to drive 8 hours or less for a show and stay over or drive back depending how far the show is.

Amber with you I'd like to do 3-5 or more if you choose, I was thinking like 1 week of shows and the four of us Matt, myself,u and Ange driving to and from the shows. You and I can split the cost of MEIN tix which for last nights show would have been $70.00. The more shows you do you better your chances of hearing a request, getting a setlist,a guitar pic, or something random like her water bottle and or her towel she uses to wipe the sweat off. You'll meet more of my freinds and have a great time. Plus 3 hours for under $100.00 SO WORTH IT. My ticket last night went to waste, so I was bummed. That is why I want you to come, and to experience Tourstalking MLE/MEIN style. I find most (not all) fans compared to Tori regs WAY nicer. They don't snob you becuase you don't do as many shows as they do, or you complain that Melissa hasn't been in say (uk) in a while.....

So Looking forward to next summer.

Melissa Etheridge: Solo in the spotlight

Singer brings her 'Live and Alone' tour to Binghamton
    By Chris Kocher • ckocher@gannett.com • Staff Writer • August 20, 2009

Like a lot of musicians in their early days, Melissa Etheridge started her career playing in smoky barrooms - just her passionate voice, a guitar and a burning need to sway people's hearts.

Now, after more than 25 years and millions of albums sold, Etheridge is recapturing that spirit on her latest "Live and Alone" tour, which stops Sunday night at Binghamton University's Anderson Center. One major difference: Expect this audience to be much more attentive.

"It brings out a lot more of me, because that's all that's up there - I've got to fill a lot of space and perception, so I find I talk a little bit more and I'm more relaxed," Etheridge said about the solo tour in an interview last week. "I'll do something on the fly, just go, 'Oh, I'll do this' - because it's just me. I can improvise more, I can push myself, I play the guitar a little bit more."

The flexibility of a solo show also allows the 48-year-old rock icon to go beyond her greatest hits (such as "I'm the Only One" and "Come to My Window") and pluck some lesser-known tunes from her groundbreaking 10-album songbook.

"It is really fun - I'm having a blast!" she said of creating a different setlist every night. "It's like, 'Oh, I haven't done that song in 10 years - let's do that.' There are some really intense fans who come to many, many, many, many, many shows, and they really appreciate me pulling some of the songs from way far back, that I haven't done in a long time. They like to hear those."

Etheridge has forged her own path in the music world since leaving her native Leavenworth, Kan., for a shot at stardom in Los Angeles. Her 1988 self-titled debut was a refreshingly honest blast of blues-rock in the era of New Wave and teen pop, and it went multi-platinum - as did "Yes I Am" (1993) and "Your Little Secret" (1995). Two other albums racked up platinum sales, and yet another two went gold.

Her personal life has garnered plenty of interest, too. After coming out as a lesbian in 1993, Etheridge became a prominent proponent for gay rights. She's a mother to four children (two with former partner Julie Cypher and twins with current wife Tammy Lynn Michaels) who range in age from 2 to 12 years old.

After battling breast cancer in 2004, Etheridge appeared bald from chemotherapy at the 2005 Grammy Awards for a tribute to Janis Joplin. The courage behind her scorching version of "Piece of My Heart" (alongside Joss Stone) inspired cancer patients everywhere.

Nowadays, Etheridge steers clear of the usual rock 'n' roll excesses and makes her family the priority.

"I'm not going to be the mom that when my kids grow up, they say, 'She wasn't there.' That's why in the last 10 years I've really toned down the work. I would only work in the summer, I would only tour in the summer. I really took a lot of time off with that to raise my kids," she said. "Now they're older - they understand. This next album, I'll probably work a little harder on it."

For her follow-up to 2007's "The Awakening," Etheridge has teamed up in the studio with producer (and longtime friend) John Shanks. Initial recordings of "16 or 17 songs" were finished a few weeks ago, and Etheridge is very pleased with the results so far.

"I really enjoyed myself - I don't think I've enjoyed myself so much in the studio for a long time! I'm very excited about it," she said. "We still have overdubs and vocals to do, but it should be done around the end of the year and hopefully put out in the spring or something."

Although Etheridge expects the new album will be less epic and autobiographical than "The Awakening" - her first reflections after beating cancer - some spiritual themes are sure to shine through once again.

"My inspiration has always come from me - from what I feel and what I'm thinking and what I fear and what I'm dreaming," she said. "That's where the music comes from, and as I have grown and changed and hopefully become wiser, I'm hoping that my music is getting wiser, too."

Among Etheridge's many accolades are a couple of Grammys and a 2007 Academy Award for "I Need to Wake Up," the theme for Al Gore's Oscar-winning global warming film "An Inconvenient Truth." But is there anything she hasn't accomplished yet?

"Oh yeah! But they don't really have to do with awards or anything - that I've got!" she said. "That's all good and that's fine, (but) I would love to reach more of the world. I really have (only) England and Asia - I'm super-underground in Asia. So I'd like to become more international. I just want to have fun all the time. I want to love what I do and do what I love, and just keep doing it."
